The project is located in a prime
location of Muscat sea side in Sultanate of Oman this old construction was
built as a commercial center. it consisted of all kinds and varieties of retail
shops. The shape of the project has its root in curves like the Arab gulf sea
waves, there is a grid from which curves emerge to shape all the peaks of the
project with a progression in the direction of the sea.
The openings are also created to emphasize the program to create wonderful roof.
We have tried to prioritize a low
mass versus a more apparent profile, we have structured the project as a sum of
adjacent programmatic openings which will allow a high level of connectivity: circulation
areas become part of the useable space, allowing the visitors to use this
spaces to interact or to work. The
arches along the facades that characterize traditional Omani an architecture
has been transformed into debate and production areas, where they can use it as
shops an outdoor but curved coffee shops.
